To facilitate easier operations for the fishermen of Hanimaadhoo, an agreement has been signed with a party selected to conduct the necessary survey and design work for constructing a dedicated T-jetty (a jetty specifically for fishing) in the island's futtaru (outer reef/ocean-facing) area.
This work has been awarded to Charette Studio.
The total cost of this project is MVR 216,000.00 (two hundred and sixteen thousand Rufiyaa).
The agreement was signed by the President of the Council on behalf of the Hanimaadhoo Council.
Once the survey and design work for this project is completed, the council will proceed with preparations to open bidding to kick off the physical construction of the jetty. The establishment of this T-jetty will further advance Hanimaadhoo's fishing industry and promote sports fishing.
